In 2016, ROCKWOOL Group implemented SAP Concur Travel as part of the Beat Finance Programme. The engagement was led by a freelance architect and manager responsible for cloud solutions, carrying accountability for solution architecture, project management, business case and project evaluations across finance and HR domains.
SAP Concur Travel was configured as the Travel Management platform to centralize travel booking, expense capture, and approvals workflows, embedding Concur travel and expense approvals into corporate approval chains. The broader program included parallel projects for TIS payments and Alusta Basware invoice approvals, and deliverables included high level process descriptions, master data management design, SAP Fiori touchpoints, and end to end payroll and HR process and system descriptions.
Integration architecture relied on Informatica to synchronize transactional and master data between SAP Concur Travel, SAP ERP components, and Workday, enabling employee master data provisioning and financial posting orchestration across systems. The deployment emphasized cloud-hosted application components with Informatica middleware bridging Concur, SAP, and Workday to support travel booking, expense posting, and payroll alignment.
Governance and rollout activities covered solution architecture ownership, detailed business and system documentation, SAP roll-out coordination, and alignment of approval workflows with HR and payroll processes. SAP Concur Travel served as the Travel Management hub within the Beat Finance Programme, with implementation scope focused on operationalizing approval workflows and integrating travel expense data into finance and HR systems.
