In 2019, the Archdiocese of Boston began the migration to Sage Intacct, implementing the cloud-based Sage Intacct finance platform for Central Ministries in January 2019. The organization pursued an organization-wide rollout in phases to parishes, schools and cemeteries, completing the program at the close of fiscal 2023 and migrating approximately 380 entities to Sage Intacct. The Archdiocese of Boston implemented Sage Intacct as its ERP Financial system to centralize finance and accounting functions across Central Ministries, parishes, schools and cemetery operations.
Configuration focused on standardizing the chart of accounts, deploying robust reporting and cost allocation capabilities, and streamlining the year-end consolidation process including a streamlined 4 of 67 year end consolidation process. Security controls were strengthened through two factor authentication and enhanced consolidated vendor visibility was established to support procurement and vendor management workflows. Sage Intacct Mateo was introduced for diocesan savings and loan management as a cloud-native complement to Sage Intacct.
Operational integrations and adjacent system changes included a payroll platform transition to Paylocity on October 1, 2022, adopting Time and Attendance, Employee Self-Service and payroll reporting capabilities within the Archdiocese payroll function. On December 1, 2023, the Corporation Sole’s Revolving Loan Fund program transitioned to Sage Intacct Mateo, and seamless integration between Sage Intacct Mateo and Sage Intacct was implemented to streamline vendor payment processing, improve reconciliations and provide consolidated reporting across loan and general ledger workflows.
Governance emphasized phased rollout, preparation time and role-based training for Pastors, Administrators and Finance and Operations Managers to support adoption and control design. The rollout plan accommodated pandemic-related delays while preserving data consolidation and reporting objectives. The completed Sage Intacct deployment unified financial operations under a single ERP Financial instance and enabled standardized finance processes and consolidated financial visibility across the Archdiocese.

In 2016, Archdiocese of Boston implemented an In-House ATS, an Applicant Tracking System, to support external recruitment workflows on its public website. The In-House ATS is embedded on bostoncatholic.org and centralizes job posting, candidate submission capture, and preliminary application staging for roles across the organization. Deployment supports web-based applicant intake and review workflows used by institutional HR teams and hiring managers.
The In-House ATS provides typical Applicant Tracking System capabilities including job requisition publishing, candidate profile and resume capture, status tracking through defined hiring stages, and administrative candidate queues for HR. Operational governance is managed by central HR with hiring manager access to candidate pools and staged review processes, enabling consistent application handling across the Archdiocese’s sites. The narrative positions the In-House ATS as a custom-developed Applicant Tracking System that links public-facing recruitment pages to internal HR and talent acquisition processes.
