In 2019, Royal IHC implemented IFS Cloud ERP as the selected platform for its One IHC consolidation program. The initiative targeted consolidation of 17 different ERP systems onto a single IFS Cloud ERP instance to address fragmentation created by acquisition-driven growth across the company operating in 39 countries and employing over 3,000 people.
The implementation focused on ERP Financial capabilities, configuring core financials alongside procurement, inventory and cost management workflows to eliminate redundant data and achieve efficiencies of scale. Royal IHC standardized master data and chart of accounts across business units, and configured multi-site transactional processing consistent with manufacturing and project-driven shipbuilding operations.
Architecturally the program preserved a middleware-led integration posture, with integrations implemented via web services and new web services built from IFS to connect the ERP to PLM, HR and CRM systems. Explicit interfaces mentioned include Teamcenter, Workday and Salesforce, and the deployment consolidated multiple databases into a central IFS Cloud ERP deployment that serves procurement, engineering, manufacturing and sales functions.
Governance was driven through the One IHC program to centralize IT decision making, standardize processes and structure rollouts across business units, requiring multiple decisions and tradeoffs during configuration. The project notes that integrations are a time and money consuming part of the transformation, while the stated objectives are elimination of redundant data and realization of scale efficiencies through the ERP Financial consolidation.
