In 2012, Rusken Packaging implemented Amtech EnCore ERP as its Manufacturing ERP platform for a multi-site packaging manufacturer operating manufacturing and warehousing facilities across six states in the Mid South. The deployment was executed under an IT program responsible for all systems across the company, with explicit emphasis on stabilizing infrastructure and data foundations before application-level enablement.
The Amtech EnCore ERP implementation included targeted reengineering of the company’s Amtech Imaginera ERP cost system and modernization of underlying IT assets, including software and hardware upgrades, internet connectivity improvements, and network server consolidation. Database work was a key configuration activity, the Sequel Server database was purged and reorganized, and a ZARCHIVE database was created to isolate and retain historical transactional data for reporting and auditability.
Functional modules and operational automation implemented within Amtech EnCore ERP included Plant Data Entry PDE for real time quality control and electronic production documentation, Smart Plan for real time planning and scheduling, and Shipment Planning for live shipment visibility. The Shipment Planning workstream was explicitly aligned with a subsequent path forward to implement TOP GUN RF wireless inventory control, reflecting sequencing of warehouse automation and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Operational coverage extended across production, quality, planning, shipping, and inventory management domains, with the IT organization establishing data retention and change control patterns to support the ERP. Governance activities encompassed database archival strategy via ZARCHIVE, rollout sequencing to prioritize real time shop floor capture and planning, and a defined timeline and roadmap to move toward a paperless office environment.
Outcomes documented in project notes include improved real time operational visibility and an explicit increase in company profitability following the workstreams described. The implementation narrative centers Amtech EnCore ERP as the Manufacturing ERP backbone that enabled real time shop floor entry, planning, shipment orchestration, and the archival architecture needed for historical traceability.
