In 2020 SABCA migrated to SAP S/4 HANA, adopting a Greenfield deployment on SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition to address its ERP Financial requirements across aerospace, defense and industrial lines of business. The program covered the company’s four operational sites in Brussels, Lummen, Charleroi and Casablanca, aligning the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial implementation with multi-site operational needs and centralized financial process standardization. S4IC led the data migration workstream, implementing an extraction and conversion factory using the SEAzam© ETL and the SEAmapp© conversion engine. SEAzam© was used to extract large volumes of data from the existing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 system, SEAmapp© automated transformation of extracted records by mapping objects and fields and by generating import files, and the project used the SAP Data Migration Cockpit to load data into SAP S/4 HANA. The migration architecture was structured around repeatable extraction, conversion and load cycles, with explicit steps to define migration objects, identify fields to convert and establish mappings between old and new values. Integration points included direct extraction from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and import into SAP S/4 HANA, with SEAzam© and SEAmapp© forming the migration middleware layer and the Data Migration Cockpit serving as the final load mechanism. Governance emphasized close collaboration between S4IC, the Greenfield implementation team and SABCA business users, with iterative data loading tests and feedback loops used to refine conversion rules and mappings. The migration narrative notes that the combined SEAzam© and SEAmapp© automation reduced manual intervention, produced an infinitely repeatable conversion process and lowered the risk of handling errors during the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial cutover.
