The architecture emphasized Azure native integrations and data orchestration, with Azure Data Factory pipelines, Azure Blob Storage and Azure SQL Database used to stage and transform data. A custom D365 BC API and vendor shipping API were used to update Business Central Sales Orders with shipment and invoicing data from a third party logistics partner, and an Azure data pipeline was built to retrieve point of sale data from SPS Analytics via SFTP into Azure SQL. Salesforce was configured for Omni Channel Chat for website live chat and a new Salesforce warranty tracking application was designed to capture product registrations, while Power Platform and Power Automate were used for internal automation and integration tasks. Governance and operationalization focused on standards, training and vendor management, with the Systems Director establishing Power BI reporting layout and navigation standards, mentoring team members in Power BI dataset and DAX development, API integration practices, Azure services and Microsoft Power Platform. The program included vendor selection and RFP management for a B2B customer portal, ongoing relations with ISVs and a Microsoft VAR, and backend management of the sabrered.com webstore. An explicit operational outcome recorded during the engagement was a 48 percent reduction in managed service provider costs after adding an internal help desk resource.
