Customizations were applied to SAP AP processes to map invoice and payment flows, enhancements were developed for AP general ledger and audit processes, and PCARD processing workflows were reworked to route card holds to managers for timely completion and monthly reconciliation. Architecturally the project leveraged HANA and a gateway server for Fiori services, and integrated external systems explicitly identified in the implementation scope. Integrations included the ICL check imaging data transfer to Bank of America, an upgraded Remittance Payment System to improve utility payment receivables, and FI-CA master data updates to support RPS processing. The team evaluated and used Security Weaver tools to implement Segregation of Duties controls across ABAP and non ABAP systems, and assessed GRC functionality as part of control tooling analysis. Governance work included a formal SOD project to implement high priority conflicts required for SOX compliance and targeted changes to 1099 and 1042 processes to accommodate IRS rules for fiscal year 2017. The rollout emphasized workflow configuration for multiple invoice processing scenarios, workshops with business user groups and auditors, and ongoing support and enhancements to align finance, accounting and audit operations with the AP Automation platform.
