In 2019 Samsung Foundry worked with Cadence Design Systems to enable and validate the Cadence Innovus Implementation System for its Gate All Around GAA technology. The engagement targeted Electronic Design,System on Chip Design workflows and concentrated on SoC physical implementation, specifically place and route for advanced process nodes, with the immediate objective of a test vehicle tapeout in South Korea.
Cadence Innovus was configured and validated to support implementation flows including constraint management and timing closure, and was aligned with Samsung Foundry process design kits to ensure manufacturing compatibility. The project emphasized flow enablement and implementation validation between Cadence engineering and Samsung Foundry implementation teams, and it delivered optimized implementation results and an on-time tapeout for the test vehicle.
