| Liferay | Legacy | Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) | Web Content Management | Content Management | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025, Santander Asset Management implemented Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for Web Content Management. The implementation was showcased at Liferay Customer Summit 2025 where Santander Asset Management demonstrated how the platform supports efficiency and innovation in financial asset management.
Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) deployment emphasized no-code and low-code capabilities to democratize digital experience creation, enabling business users to compose and publish marketing content, customer portals, and commerce pages without specialized developer resources. The platform's Ecommerce module and no-code tooling are cited by Liferay as mechanisms to unlock new revenue streams and reduce costs, and BYOAI support lets organizations select and integrate the AI models that meet their security and data protection requirements.
Architecturally the DXP supports flexible cloud topologies including optimized marketplace deployments on AWS, Azure, and Google, and Kubernetes based private cloud operation through Liferay for Kubernetes, allowing both public and private cloud footprints. Security Plus extends comprehensive protection for PaaS clients, and Liferay's security partnerships with Palo Alto Networks, Mandiant, and Rapid 7 provide vulnerability scanning and machine learning enabled DDoS protection for hosted environments.
Operationally the deployment targets financial asset management functions and customer facing digital channels, shifting some content ownership toward marketing and product teams through admin level no-code governance and workflows. Governance considerations include policy alignment for BYOAI adoption and platform security controls, while rollout emphasizes modular content and portal patterns common to Web Content Management implementations.

In 2013 Santander Asset Management deployed Bloomberg Asset and Investment Manager, Bloomberg AIM as its Portfolio and Investment Management platform, positioning AIM as the firm wide Front and Middle Office. The project was executed with everis as the system integrator and covered functional adoption across Santander AM countries including Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, and Brazil.
The implementation consolidated front office order management and middle office trade processing capabilities into Bloomberg AIM, with everis responsible for requirements intake, functional analysis, technical design, adaptation, and configuration. Configuration work emphasized AIM workflow orchestration, position and trade lifecycle management, and instrument reference modelling consistent with Portfolio and Investment Management functional patterns.
AIM was integrated with Markit Enterprise Data Management to serve as the central data hub, and Markit EDM was used to mediate data flows and reference enrichment between Bloomberg AIM and local back office systems. The architecture established AIM as the operational front and middle tier, Markit EDM as the enterprise data layer, and local back offices as settlement and accounting endpoints, with integration and functional testing conducted across AIM, Markit EDM, and each local back office.
Project governance included program level management, planning, and monitoring activities led by everis, with a phased rollout across countries, comprehensive integration and functional tests, and implementation through to post implantation support. Activities explicitly listed in the program scope were management, planning and monitoring, taking customer requirements, functional analysis, technical design, integration, adaptation and configuration, integration and functional tests of AIM Markit local Back Offices, and implementation and post implantation support.
