SAP Legacy SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing Manufacturing ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2021 2021 In 2021 Santen Switzerland deployed SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing as a Manufacturing ERP to consolidate finance, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and master data process streams across its regulated life sciences operations. The rollout was aligned to GxP compliance requirements and focused on preparing manufacturing and quality teams for new system-driven workflows. Configuration work centered on implementing core Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Master Data modules inside SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, with process orchestration and validation work to support regulated batch and quality management workflows typical of a Manufacturing ERP. Blended learning journeys were developed to align system configuration with new ways of working, including e-learnings, virtual training, guides, and certification paths for key operational roles. The program integrated SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing with satellite systems for HR, Procurement, and Travel to maintain cross-functional process continuity during the go live. Rollout coverage included EMEA and North America, with 250 users live in November 2022, targeted communications reaching 550 internal and external stakeholders, and cross-cultural engagement extending from the US to Japan. Post go live access and training processes were outsourced to support operational stabilization. Governance and organization change management were formalized, led by an OCM lead who directed a team of three OCM specialists and 15 change agents. The project sustained engagement of 150 core project members, built capabilities of 26 trainers across EMEA and North America, and executed 115 training sessions in the month preceding go live, using channels such as MS Teams, town halls, intranet, newsletters, and leadership video. The team designed and implemented post go live IT organization and governance to manage ongoing support and control. Documented achievements include partnership with the project steering committee and global leadership, establishment of OCM expertise for project and business stakeholders, sustained cross-cultural engagement from US to Japan, orchestration of 115 pre go live training sessions, and the design and implementation of post go live IT organization and governance. SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing was the central application supporting manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and finance business functions for Santen Switzerland as part of this program.
