In 2018, SBM Group entered a strategic partnership with Miles Software to roll out Miles MoneyWare Wealth Management across the bank and its nonbank financial company in Mauritius. Miles MoneyWare Wealth Management was implemented as the group platform for Asset and Wealth Management, with the vendor stating that some MoneyWare modules were already live in 2018.
The implementation scope covered core modules described in the announcement, including wealth management, custody, valuation, accounting, and fund and portfolio management. Configuration work emphasized functional workflows common to Asset and Wealth Management systems, namely front office advisory and portfolio construction, middle office valuation and reporting, and back office custody and accounting ledgers under the Miles MoneyWare Wealth Management schema.
Deployment was executed across SBM Group and its NBFC, providing a unified operational platform for wealth, custody and fund operations within Mauritius. Governance focused on phased rollout of discrete MoneyWare modules, cross-departmental alignment across wealth management, custody operations and fund accounting teams, and vendor partnership coordination during initial module go live in 2018.
