In 2024, Scandic Hotels implemented Oracle OPERA Cloud Central as its cloud-based Hotel Property Management platform, and the program is being executed to connect all hotels and central functions during the first half of 2024. The deployment of Oracle OPERA Cloud Central is positioned to centralize core property operations across Scandic’s portfolio, aligning cloud tenancy and central configuration for property and corporate teams.
The implementation focused on standard Hotel Property Management capabilities, with configurations for reservations and central booking workflows, front office check-in and check-out, housekeeping status and task orchestration, and rate and availability controls. Scandic configured central master data and property profiles to enable standardized room and rate setups, and implemented guest profile management to support personalized service delivery.
Operational coverage intentionally spans both individual hotels and central corporate functions, and the program explicitly targets integration with the Scandic Friends loyalty program to support improvements to the guest journey. Connectivity plans emphasize centralized reservation routing and unified guest profile access across properties, enabling consistent guest experience and centralized commercial controls.
Governance and rollout followed a phased, hotel-by-hotel onboarding approach coordinated with central teams, including standardized process mapping, role-based access and data governance to support operational consistency. Training and change management were aligned with the central rollout schedule to ensure hotels and corporate functions adopt common workflows. Scandic has stated the implementation is proceeding according to plan, and the company expects to capitalize on higher efficiency and make significant improvements to the guest journey once Oracle OPERA Cloud Central is fully in place.
