In 2011 Scholastic implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP, deploying the solution within its ERP Financial environment to address core accounting operations. The work focused on the Oracle NetSuite ERP Accounting Module, configured to centralize general ledger and transactional accounting workflows across Scholastic's finance organization.
The engagement included design and implementation of an interface layer using REST API to automatically load cloud-hosted transactional and master data into an on-premise Hyperion Essbase system that supported the Budgeting and Forecasting module. The Accounting Module workstream encompassed mapping of journal entries, chart of accounts alignment, automated posting processes, and scheduled extraction routines that feed Essbase for planning and consolidation.
Architecturally the implementation combined Oracle NetSuite ERP in the cloud with an intermediary integration tier exposing REST endpoints, transformation logic, and batch orchestration into Hyperion Essbase, maintaining separation between transaction processing and analytical planning layers. Operational coverage targeted Scholastic's finance and budgeting teams, with governance centered on standardized data mapping, scheduled API loads, and reconciliation workflows between NetSuite accounting records and the Hyperion Budgeting and Forecasting module.

In 2015 Scholastic implemented Workday Benefits as its core Benefits Administration application, deploying it alongside broader Workday HR, Compensation and Benefits capabilities. The implementation targeted enterprise benefits workflows and centralized benefits data to support HR and compensation business functions across all regions.
Workday Benefits was configured with foundational business processes for benefits enrollment and administration, and Scholastic designed, built and tested Workday business processes in collaboration with HR, Compensation and Payroll groups. The program included intensive data conversion, security configuration and data clean-up activities, and the team executed testing, change management and training to operationalize job change, merit and talent related workflows after go-live.
Operational integration covered close coordination with Payroll and IT teams and extended to other key systems where employee and benefits data interface, ensuring data integrity where the data touches other systems. Reporting and analytics were rolled out regionally, including custom reports and dashboards to support organizational structure reporting, costing allocation, billing and turnover analyses.
Governance centered on project-led update planning and deployment, ongoing maintenance and evolution of Workday Benefits functionality, and oversight of business process simplification with each update. Scholastic maintained a structured program for testing, training and security governance, while the HRIS leadership actively managed reporting, change control and regional rollout sequencing for the Workday Benefits environment.
