In 2017, Scottish Friendly implemented Bravura Sonata Alta Platform to support Asset and Wealth Management for its life and pensions administration, deploying a single Sonata instance to centralize policy servicing and back office processing. The Bravura Sonata Alta Platform was used as the primary administration system for Scottish Friendly's life and pensions business, establishing a single system of record for a broad product set.
The implementation configured straight through processing and integrated workflow capabilities to automate end to end administration tasks, and the rollout consolidated product administration onto one Sonata system. Scottish Friendly administers more than one million policies on Bravura Sonata Alta Platform across insurance, protection, pensions, annuities, bonds, Junior ISAs and investment ISAs, and the project included the migration of 47.6 million client transactions into the platform.
Operational coverage focused on life and pensions administration and back office operations, while product distribution continued through third party brands such as Beagle Street and Neilson Financial Services. The deployment emphasized system consolidation and unified administration, aligning policy servicing, transaction processing and workflow orchestration within the Asset and Wealth Management application footprint.
Governance and operating model changes accompanied the technical deployment, supporting Scottish Friendly’s strategy of organic growth, business process outsourcing and mergers and consolidations. The program delivered stated benefits of strong operational efficiencies and reduced operating costs, while positioning the Bravura Sonata Alta Platform as the centralized administration layer for Scottish Friendly’s Asset and Wealth Management business function.
