In 2018, SECO/WARWICK implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations in the cloud. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations deployment targeted nearly 500 employees across finance, cost management, supply chain management, transport, design and production, sales, warehousing and service management, and included consolidation and cloud transfer of a CRM environment for approximately 200 users, aligning the program with the ERP Financial category.
The implementation configured core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger and financial close workflows, cost accounting and product standardisation controls, supply chain and transport planning, production and design data flows, sales order management, warehouse management and service management modules. A priority for the configuration was elimination of paper-based documents and establishment of standardized product master data to support consistent operational processes across manufacturing and service functions.
The program integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations with Microsoft Azure IoT for continuous monitoring of production equipment and installed products, and planned use of machine learning to anticipate and prevent equipment failures. Service workflows were augmented through SECO/LENS augmented reality glasses based on HoloLens technology to support field technicians, and the CRM footprint was consolidated and migrated to the cloud to unify customer and service data within the Microsoft ecosystem.
ANEGIS led the implementation as the selected system integrator, providing a large implementation team with industry-specific business experience to support business process reorganisation and to meet elevated project security requirements. Governance emphasis included change management tied to process redesign for finance, operations and service, and coordination between IT, operations and service teams for cloud rollout and data consolidation.
Planned outcomes stated by SECO/WARWICK included driving the bottom line through digital initiatives, achieving product standardisation, eliminating paper documents to become a truly digital company, improving service technician efficiency via augmented reality, and enabling predictive maintenance through Azure-hosted machine learning, all implemented under the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial deployment.
