| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2016 |
In 2015, Seqens implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core enterprise system supporting finance and operational workflows. In 2021 Seqens initiated a project to migrate that SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment to the Amazon Web Services cloud, with an upgrade path that included moving database infrastructure and advancing from SAP ECC 6.0 EHP6 to SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8 during the migration timeline that concluded with production cutover in Easter 2022.
The workstream encompassed the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 application and ancillary SAP components, explicitly including a SAP BW data warehouse migration and updates to SAP GUI and mobile applications connected to the SAP information system. Configuration activities focused on database modernization, GUI remediation, and revalidation of business critical financial close processes to comply with Seqens’s regulated pharmaceutical context, aligning the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 estate with ERP Financial controls and reporting requirements.
Operationally the migration targeted a global footprint that includes 24 production sites and 10 R&D centers across ten countries, with Seqens’s SAP Competence Center and IT organization coordinating cutover activities. TeamWork acted as the managed infrastructure and operations provider for the AWS-hosted SAP environment, taking responsibility for AWS contract and billing interactions, server hosting in France for compliance reasons, backups, and ongoing operational maintenance. Network and endpoint work included switching SAP GUI clients, mobile application connectivity, and printer access to the new cloud-hosted infrastructure during the go live window.
Governance and rollout followed a cautious, phased approach, with proof of concept and risk analysis preceding start of work in December 2021, a planned parallel maintenance period for the two environments, and a concentrated cutover over a long weekend to minimize business disruption. A hypercare support phase lasting just over one month was used to secure an initial financial close and validate system stability. Seqens also adjusted its maintenance contract model, centralizing operational maintenance with TeamWork to free internal IT teams from server and backup management and to simplify SAP system support responsibilities.
Outcomes reported in project communications include successful production startup with minimal regressions, stable availability on AWS infrastructure, and an optimized MCO maintenance arrangement that freed Seqens IT resources for other priorities. Seqens is pursuing a multi-year convergence of its sites to the SAP ECC ERP platform through 2025, leveraging the new cloud infrastructure as a scalable technical foundation for the ERP Financial estate.

Cegid PeopleVision implementation work included animation of analysis workshops, detailed configuration of the solution, and AMOE support to translate business requirements into system settings. Configuration focused on personnel master data, organizational modeling, statutory labor rule capture for the chemistry collective bargaining agreement, and standard Core HR capabilities such as HR administration and absence management.
Operational coverage was the group HR function spanning the 15 legal entities and 27 sites, delivering centralized HR configuration and a unified personnel record structure. Governance for the program relied on workshop-driven requirements validation and AMOE as the primary bridge between HR stakeholders and system configuration, supporting staged adoption and consolidated operational governance.
