In 2017 Shimano Australia implemented Pronto XI HR as part of a program to consolidate its Pronto Xi estate across cycling and fishing operations, moving to a single customized version and single data set. The deployment was scoped to support companywide management functions while ensuring the Pronto XI estate could interface with the new state of the art Distribution Centre automation. The implementation delivered a fully customized Pronto Xi platform that included payroll and HR capabilities under Pronto XI HR, and extended into sales, accounting, marketing and business intelligence. The solution used Pronto Xi Alert Intelligence for real time operational notifications and centralized Warehouse Management System inventory control, and the Pronto XI HR component provided Core HR functionality supporting payroll and HR processes. A key integration point was the Dematic Multishuttle GTP order fulfillment system where Pronto Xi commands picking locations and quantities, and Dematic returns task completion to Pronto Xi. The rollout also included a B2B online ordering platform that connects directly to Pronto Xi and the Dematic interface, surfacing real time stock availability and order status to approximately 4,000 distributors across Australia and New Zealand and to the companys Distribution Centre handling some 15,000 product lines. Governance and operational change accompanied the technical work, with Pronto Xi rolled out across multiple management functions and configured alerting workflows to notify the right teams on events such as credit holds and stock condition changes. Warehouse floor roles were restructured as staff were reallocated into other areas of the business and weekend and overtime requirements were reduced, reflecting a broader shift in operational processes tied to the system rollout. The combined Pronto Xi and Dematic integration automated about 80 percent of order dispatches through robotic picking, reduced pick error rates and increased pick rates, and enabled next day delivery across Australia. Customer facing changes included a responsive B2B site that reduced enquiry calls and improved access to product information and order tracking, while Pronto XI HR and related modules continued to support internal HR and payroll functions.
