In 2019, SIG plc implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform in a global program led by a designated Lead Architect. The program was scoped to centralize transactional finance and standardize financial processes across SIG plc's international finance organization, with a specific emphasis on integrated planning and analytics.
SAP S/4 HANA was configured to deliver core financial capabilities typical of the ERP Financial category, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, statutory reporting and financial close orchestration. Planning and consolidation capability was provided through SAP BPC Optimized, with configuration workstreams aligned to S/4 HANA master data, chart of accounts harmonization and unified accounting ledgers.
The implementation integrated SAP BPC Optimized for planning and consolidation and SAP Analytics Cloud SAC for reporting, dashboards and analytic consumption, with S/4 HANA retained as the transactional source of truth for financial postings and journal entries. Data model alignment, mapped interfaces and recurring data export/import flows were established to support FP&A, consolidation and statutory reporting use cases across the global finance footprint.
Governance was organized around a centralized finance architecture team and cross-functional rollout committees to manage master data, chart of accounts rationalization and cutover sequencing. Process standardization and control points were emphasized to reshape month end close and planning workflows, with the Lead Architect providing program-level architectural ownership and design continuity.

| GE Digital | Legacy | GE Digital Predix APM | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, SIG plc deployed GE Digital Predix APM to instrument and monitor the health of filling machines that SIG supplies to food and beverage manufacturers. GE Digital Predix APM, an Asset Performance Management application, was selected to address Operational Equipment Effectiveness or OEE across SIG customer sites and to provide a single system of record for asset condition and failure prediction.
The implementation configured asset modeling and condition monitoring capabilities within GE Digital Predix APM, mapping SIG machine types and serial numbers into an asset hierarchy and capturing telemetry and downtime events tied to the three OEE dimensions, quality, performance, and availability. Functional modules emphasized in the deployment included health scoring, anomaly detection, predictive failure analytics, and asset-level work history to support condition-based maintenance and predictive maintenance workflows.
Predix APM was integrated with GE Digital Predix ServiceMax field service management so that APM monitors pass maintenance triggers and diagnostic data to ServiceMax, which generates and dispatches work orders to SIG field technicians. ServiceMax then records completed service actions and funnels that work history back into Predix APM, creating a closed-loop data flow to improve predictive models. The operational scope covered filling lines located in some 400 factories around the world and touched field service, maintenance planning, and customer-facing support functions.
Governance of the deployment centered on aligning condition-based alerts from GE Digital Predix APM with ServiceMax service orchestration, enforcing asset-level documentation of work performed, and using returned service data to retrain AI models. The stated objective was to maximize equipment uptime and enable Predix APM to predict future breakdowns using artificial intelligence, while ensuring service records and maintenance execution were consistently captured against individual assets.
