In 2013 Skyline Steel deployed Invera Stratix ERP to manage Manufacturing ERP functions across its sales, production planning and logistics operations. The implementation centered on end to end order lifecycle and estimating workflows within the Manufacturing ERP category, aligning quoting, order management and shop floor routing to commercial project requirements.
The Invera Stratix ERP configuration captured quoting and price analysis workflows, the conversion of quotes into sales orders, and the creation of customer profiles with delivery locations and corresponding tax rates. The system was configured to manage routings, apply production planning, record production activities and issue transport releases, reflecting core manufacturing order management and shop floor control capabilities.
Operational execution integrated day to day collaboration with sales representatives, vendors, subcontractors and general contractors to keep sales orders current, and relied on scanned paperwork and Microsoft Office based artifacts for accuracy and timeliness. Teams used the ERP to prioritize bids and process quotes into the system, while maintaining lists of approved shippers based on geography, capacity, availability and rates to resolve periodic shipping challenges.
Governance and process changes included formalizing workflows for bidding deadlines, reporting project progress to management, supporting the District Sales Administrator to ensure correct invoicing and providing on the job training for new employees. The deployment positioned Invera Stratix ERP as the transactional backbone for Skyline Steel, unifying estimating, order processing, production planning and logistics under a single Manufacturing ERP application.
