In 2021, SLMG Beverages implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its enterprise ERP Financial platform to unify four bottling units and a newly acquired territorial business into a single integrated IT ecosystem. The cloud-based SaaS deployment was executed in collaboration with Acxiom Consulting, enabling continuous 24x7 transactions and removing IT infrastructure constraints at remote plants and depots.
The rollout followed a phased approach, starting with a prioritized sales and distribution implementation to avoid disruption to market-facing operations, then extending to raw material-to-finished goods, quality assurance, procurement-to-pay, order-to-cash, and finance. The project team combined SLMG IT associates with Acxiom consultants to configure modules, automate transactional workflows, and stabilize the sales and distribution stack before wider cutovers. Three existing units and the new company saw module deployments during a concentrated three month period beginning January 2020, with four units covering seven manufacturing plants and 33 warehouses going live on April 1, 2020, and DMS integration completed in May 2020.
Integrations included a central Distributor Management System covering 1,500 distributors and more than 250,000 retailers, and Power BI was onboarded to deliver executive dashboards and operational reporting. The relationship between Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and Power BI provided real-time sales, inventory and AR/AP visibility across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, and future phases plan to bring Microsoft CRM and Microsoft Fleet Management and Transport Logistics into the integrated stack.
Governance emphasized a business-first ERP strategy with defined goals, metrics and phased milestones, and the SLMG plus Acxiom project governance model kept day-to-day operations running while users transitioned to the new system. Reported outcomes from the implementation include greater head-office visibility into sales and inventory, improved quality control and fewer billing and delivery errors, increased supply chain efficiency up to 88 percent, reduced inventory losses by 97 percent, a 25 to 35 percent faster consolidation of financial data, customer service improvements up to 90 percent, and Order to Service Time improvements up to 98 percent through real-time goods in transit and live production tracking.

In 2021, SLMG Beverages implemented Microsoft Power BI as part of its Analytics and BI environment, engaging Acxiom Consulting to centralize reporting and executive dashboards that support consolidated decision making. The Power BI deployment was introduced after a multiunit Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations rollout and was positioned to ingest operational and financial data for enterprise reporting across the combined bottling business.
Microsoft Power BI was configured to deliver senior management and operational teams role based dashboards that track sales and growth on daily, month to date, and year to date horizons for primary and secondary sales, SKU and customer performance, fast moving and low selling product classification, net sales revenue, accounts receivable and accounts payable positions. The implementation also includes real time inventory status across all SKUs in plants, warehouses, and distributor points, live production tracking, and order to service metrics to support production planning and fill rate improvements.
The implementation architecture integrated Power BI with SLMG’s Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations instance and the Distributor Management System to provide consolidated visibility across seven manufacturing plants, 33 warehouses and depots, 1,500 distributors, and more than 250,000 retailers across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Data flows were designed to support goods in transit visibility and near real time reporting, with SLMG IT associates and Acxiom Consulting jointly building the dashboards and data models.
Governance followed a business first ERP strategy, leveraging phased rollout sequencing that prioritized sales and distribution reporting to avoid disruption to day to day transactions, followed by broader supply chain and finance reporting. Outcomes called out by the program and captured in the Power BI reports include improved order to service time up to 98 percent, supply chain efficiency gains up to 88 percent, inventory loss reductions up to 97 percent, faster financial consolidation timelines, and measurable improvements in customer service and revenue growth. SLMG continues to extend analytics into planning, budgeting, demand forecasting, and transport management with planned integrations to Microsoft CRM and Microsoft Fleet Management in collaboration with Acxiom Consulting.
