| IBM | Legacy | IBM Control Desk for IT Assets | IT Asset Management (ITAM) | IT Asset Management | Troia | 2020 | 2020 | In 2020, the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration deployed IBM Control Desk for IT Assets to consolidate management of its private cloud based IT services and assets. The implementation positions IBM Control Desk for IT Assets as the ministrys core IT Asset Management (ITAM) platform, centralizing inventory and lifecycle control for IT components that support citizen facing public services. Troia served as the systems integrator for the rollout, configuring IBM Control Desk for IT Assets to deliver standard ITAM capabilities including asset lifecycle management, automated discovery and inventory, configuration tracking and service request orchestration. Workflows were configured to support service desk ticketing, work order coordination and routine asset reconciliation consistent with IT Asset Management (ITAM) functional patterns. The deployment integrated the IBM Control Desk for IT Assets instance with the ministrys private cloud environment and internal service catalog to provide a single operational view of cloud hosted assets and corresponding service entitlements. Operational scope covered the ministrys central IT operations that underpin citizen services, with the system used to coordinate provisioning, incident response and asset state reporting across administrative teams. Governance changes included the consolidation of asset record ownership and the introduction of standardized request to fulfillment workflows to reduce manual handoffs. The ministry reported that IBM Control Desk for IT Assets indirectly enabled faster response to citizen queries and contributed to cost reduction efforts as part of broader public service efficiency objectives. |
