In 2020, Snackbrands migrated Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The implementation used Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as an ERP Financial application to centralize finance and operations across multiple Snackbrands warehouses and manufacturing plants in Australia.
Configuration work emphasized core finance and operations capabilities expected in ERP Financial deployments, including financial management, accounts payable and receivable, inventory valuation and procurement workflows, together with warehouse management and supply chain orchestration. The program also encompassed consolidation activities, including migrating Yarra Valley Microsoft Navision into Microsoft Dynamics AX and the setup of a new warehouse while consolidating two logistics warehouses into a single facility.
Integrations were a central element of the rollout, with explicit integration points to Microsoft Dynamics CRM for customer and sales data, Paperless WMS for warehouse execution, and Daifuku ASRS for automated storage and retrieval operations. Business intelligence and reporting were delivered via scoped Power BI dashboards, while site-level infrastructure integrations included corporate printers and a Milestone based CCTV and security system, and coordination of an IT Disaster Recovery action plan for Paperless WMS.
Project governance and operationalization were managed by an internal IT Project Manager, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, coordination of complex FMCG systems integration, change control and user coaching. Rollout activities included phased site deployments across Snackbrands sites, coaching for end users, rollout of Covid-19 contact tracing across multiple sites, and setup of IT infrastructure to support the consolidated warehouse and ongoing operations.

In 2017 Snackbrands implemented Insightsoftware Atlas for Analytics and BI as its centralized reporting platform, replacing Management Reporter for financial reporting. The deployment established Atlas as the primary reporting engine for finance and extended reporting beyond the general ledger to operational functions.
Snackbrands uses Insightsoftware Atlas query functionality to produce procurement, sales, inventory, and commodity reports, the latter implemented as an added module to Microsoft Dynamics AX. Configuration focused on leveraging Atlas queries and report templates to consolidate data model access across financial and operational subject areas.
Atlas was implemented alongside supplemental reporting tools, including Power BI tools and a data warehouse solution, enabling a layered analytics architecture where Atlas handles operational and GL reporting and extracts feed into BI visualization and warehouse governed datasets. The implementation directly integrates with Microsoft Dynamics AX for transactional data consumption and supports reporting across finance, procurement, sales, and inventory management teams.
Governance shifted toward self-service report creation with Atlas, reducing dependence on IT for routine reports. Snackbrands reported that adopting Insightsoftware Atlas freed up 75% of the organization’s IT support time and trimmed more than 60% from their previous reporting process, outcomes attributed to Atlas report automation and query-driven report maintenance.
