In 2018 Sogefi implemented Mitrefinch Flexipay as its Payroll application. The deployment focused on the corporate Payroll and HR department to manage high frequency payroll cycles under tight statutory deadlines, covering weekly payrolls, staff monthly payrolls and pensioner monthly payrolls.
Mitrefinch Flexipay was configured to handle end to end payroll administration and checking, including processing of payroll changes and back pay, issuing payslips, and calculating statutory and contractual pay elements such as shift allowance, holiday pay, statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay and statutory paternity pay. The implementation managed deductions including tax, national insurance and employee optional deductions, and supported processing of new starters and leavers alongside routine payroll reconciliation tasks.
The solution supported statutory reporting with submission of RTI reports to HMRC and production of HMRC returns, and it produced operational outputs for payment and accounting workflows including BACS payment reports and downloadable payroll journals for the finance team. Mitrefinch Flexipay was used in the environment alongside Mitrefinch TMS and Chris frontier payroll packages, with operations that included liaison with pension scheme providers for pension contribution calculation, auto enrolment setup and scheme administration.
Operational governance emphasized timebound RTI filings and payroll runs, established workflows for starters, leavers and payroll change approvals, and centralized responsibilities for payroll and pension administration within the Payroll and HR function. The configuration reflected practical operational needs, with payroll journaling and reporting integrated into finance handoff processes and ongoing handling of employee, pensioner and authority queries.
