In 2016, Southcare implemented Thomson Reuters BigRedSky Onboarding. Thomson Reuters BigRedSky Onboarding was provisioned to support Onboarding workflows within the Human Resources function at Southcare, with primary operational focus on the Manning WA site and support for staff and volunteers. The implementation centered on candidate intake and employee record management, with BigRedSky configured to manage applicant screening and advertisement workflows, maintain employee E files in the HRMS, and generate outcome letters following recruitment and disciplinary decisions. The platform was also used to instrument onboarding checklists and workforce reporting, enabling consolidated reporting that incorporated trend analysis, issues and benchmarks for HR leadership. Operationally BigRedSky was used in conjunction with payroll and rostering systems such as Precede and RosterOn, supporting HR collaboration with payroll and finance teams and assisting with payroll duties when the payroll officer was absent. Support coverage included first point of contact HR queries, coordination of wellness and ergonomic assessments, and tracking of work related risks across the organization. Governance activity around the deployment emphasized confidentiality of employee records and adherence to company disciplinary procedures, with BigRedSky configured to produce the relevant outcome communications and to feed workforce reports used by HR and finance. Risk tracking and reporting workflows were embedded in HR processes to ensure critical risks were recorded and escalated as a priority.
