In 2013, SPAL Automotive implemented Tecnest Flex APS as a targeted production planning and scheduling solution to address needs for higher productivity at the Correggio plant and improved delivery date reliability to final customers. SPAL Automotive, a world-leader Italian manufacturer of electric fans and blowers, selected the Tecnest Flex APS within the Advanced Planning and Scheduling category following a top management decision on 18-04-2013.
The implementation centered on production processes planning and scheduling capabilities, using Tecnest Flex APS to orchestrate master production scheduling, finite capacity scheduling, order sequencing, and shop floor execution workflows consistent with Advanced Planning and Scheduling functionality. Configuration work focused on aligning schedule horizons, production calendars, and capacity constraints with the plant operational parameters to support reliable delivery commitments.
Tecnest Flex APS was integrated to the company existing ERP system to exchange sales orders, production orders, material masters, routings, and real time production status, preserving transactional continuity while moving planning logic into the APS layer. The operational coverage concentrated on the Correggio manufacturing site and the planning, operations, and logistics functions that drive on-time fulfillment and production throughput.
Governance for the rollout was driven by SPAL Automotive senior management who positioned the APS as the authoritative planning engine, and the implementation was presented as part of Tecnest customer network expansion in the automotive manufacturing sector. The solution was chosen specifically to increase productivity inside the Correggio plant and to improve service levels to final customers, especially delivery date reliability.
