In 2021 SPAR Spain implemented Evvo retail POS to support in-store checkout and phygital merchandising initiatives across multiple supermarket projects in Catalonia, including Tarragona, Banyoles and Cadaqués. The deployment targeted retail operations and customer experience workflows, reflecting Evvo retail's stated focus on POS technology and retail innovation services in Spain.
Evvo retail POS was configured to deliver core Point Of Sale capabilities, with an emphasis on transaction processing and checkout user interfaces, promotion capture and couponing, and support for phygital touchpoints that enhance in-store merchandising. Configuration work inferred from Evvo retail materials included store-level POS configuration, promotional price management at the terminal, and terminals instrumented to present product and promotional content at the point of sale.
The implementation covered store-level operational scope across the cited SPAR supermarket locations, aligning POS behavior with commercial interior design and promotional space changes driven by Evvo retail engagements. Integrations are described in Evvo retail materials as oriented to phygital retail solutions, therefore the Evvo retail POS rollout was positioned to work with checkout peripherals and in-store merchandising displays and to operationally coordinate front-of-store activities with promotional fixtures.
Governance and rollout emphasized operational orchestration between retail operations and store teams, with centralized configuration of promotions and merchandising templates to maintain consistency across sites. Training and process adjustment for store operations and merchandising staff were implied by the program focus on improving in-store shopping experience, supporting coordinated checkout and merchandising workflows under the Point Of Sale deployment.
