In 2011, Sparbank deployed InterSystems IMAge POS as its Point Of Sale application to standardize store-level checkout and inventory workflows. InterSystems IMAge POS was provisioned as the Point Of Sale solution across the retailer to provide cashier functionality and local store controls.
The implementation used local IMAge modules in each store to deliver POS cashier transactions, pricing, and receipt handling, while connecting those modules to a central ERP for inventory reconciliation, ordering and regional analysis. The architecture emphasized store-level processing with synchronized master data and transactional feeds into the central ERP to maintain stock accuracy and support chainwide ordering workflows.
ASPIAG supplied the IMAge solution to SPAR Slovenia stores, and InterSystems reporting indicates IMAge is used in more than 500 stores across Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia and the Czech Republic. Operational coverage included store operations, inventory management, ordering and analytics, enabling store managers to retain local control while contributing to centralized reporting.
The deployment supported improved inventory accuracy and stronger store-level control as reported in the InterSystems case study, with the relationship between Sparbank, InterSystems IMAge POS and the central ERP aligning Point Of Sale operations to broader merchandising and replenishment processes.
