In 2019 Sparrows Group implemented Infor SunSystems as part of an ERP Financial deployment to underpin a best of breed Purchase to Pay capability. Progressive TSL delivered the Purchase to Pay solution that was required to support multi-language and multicurrency operations, and the project was positioned as a global roll-out across Sparrows Group operations.
The implementation focused on Purchase to Pay functionality including inventory management, contracts and tender management, configurable workflow, and mobile approvals. Infor SunSystems was used as the core financial ledger and chart of accounts platform, while the P2P configuration emphasized auditable workflow, approval level controls, and user access based on role to enforce purchasing governance.
Integrations were explicitly implemented between the Progressive TSL P2P solution, Infor EAM, and Infor SunSystems to provide end to end transactional flow from requisition through invoice posting. The deployment covered procurement and finance process flows and provided dashboards for senior management to view purchasing spend by supplier and by region, with mobile clients supported on iPhone, Windows and Android devices to enable remote approvals.
Governance and process changes centered on replacing manual spreadsheet based procure to pay workstreams with automated workflows and approval routing, creating a single version of the truth for inventory and purchase records. Outcomes recorded by the project included efficiency savings through automation of manual processes, improved spend visibility with auditable workflow, reduced operational and financial approval cycles, and improved data security, with Progressive TSL delivering the mobile access component to sustain approvals away from the desk.
