UKG Legacy UKG Workforce Central Analytics (ex Kronos Workforce Analytics) Workforce Analytics HCM n/a 2014 2015
In 2014, Springfield Public Schools implemented UKG Workforce Central Analytics (ex Kronos Workforce Analytics) to centralize labor reporting and analytics districtwide. The Workforce Analytics deployment addressed timekeeping and absence transparency needs across nearly 60 schools serving 26,000 students and a workforce of administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff. The implementation paired UKG Workforce Central Analytics with core workforce management modules, including Workforce Timekeeper to capture employee time and attendance, and Workforce Absence Manager to automate leave tracking and policy enforcement. Workforce Timekeeper replaced paper timecards for hourly staff with electronic clocking and verification workflows, while Workforce Absence Manager automated accruals, cap rules, and absence policy enforcement to reduce payroll and leave inflation. The solution was integrated with the district ERP, Munis, and interfaced with the substitute teacher placement system so teacher callouts and substitute time are recorded end to end. Operational coverage was districtwide, affecting payroll, absence administration, substitute management, and budget planning across all school sites and in coordination with the districts 13 unions. Governance changes included centralized auditing of workforce data, enforcement of absence-related policies, and shifting clerical time-entry responsibilities to system-controlled workflows. Results reported by the district include improved real-time labor visibility, an 80 percent reduction in controllable overtime, more than $900,000 in labor cost savings, and a rise in high school graduation rates from 56 percent to nearly 77 percent over eight years.
