Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 Stantec implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to consolidate its ERP Financial landscape, migrating 7,000 users to the new platform and aligning financial operations under a single application. The initiative was executed while leading a global IT organization of 40 professionals supporting roughly 22,000 staff, with the Oracle E-Business Suite serving as the core financial application for multinational accounting and reporting activities. Configuration and module work focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and procurement ledgers. Implementation activities included chart of accounts rationalization, multi-entity financial configuration, period close orchestration, and automation of routine finance workflows to support centralized financial control and operational accounting. The program ran alongside a broader application rationalization effort, overseeing the integration, retirement, and migration of more than 250 applications. The team provided strategy and execution for the integration of MWH Global into Stantec, coordinated the migration of business users to Oracle E-Business Suite, and led the divestiture of a modeling software line of business affecting 140 employees, all while maintaining collaboration and knowledge content through SharePoint and in-house development and DBA support. Governance was managed by Enterprise Business Application Analysts, solution architects, DBAs, and development teams under a centralized IT leadership model, with phased rollout and operational ownership assigned by business function. The deployment emphasized standardized financial processes, consolidated application stewardship, and a disciplined program for application retirement and system integration to support long term ERP Financial stability.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2015 2018
In 2015 Stantec implemented Microsoft Power BI to consolidate reporting for its Analytics and BI initiatives supporting BIM and design technology workflows. Microsoft Power BI was deployed to surface model and project metrics alongside traditional datasets, positioning the application as a central reporting and visualization layer for BIM operations. The implementation integrated data streams from dRofus exports, Excel workbooks, Dynamo-generated outputs, and Revit-derived model data to feed Power BI datasets and reports. Configuration work emphasized data modeling, published datasets, reusable report templates, and scheduled refresh pipelines to provide consistent dashboards for BIM designers, Revit admins, model managers, and content developers. Operational ownership and governance were anchored in existing BIM leadership, with the BC BIM Lead committee chair referenced as a coordinating authority for standards and rollout. Process development and tech research and development activities were aligned to the Microsoft Power BI deployment, enabling the design technology and process teams to iterate on report logic and source transformations in line with established BIM workflows. The deployment focused on embedding Analytics and BI capabilities into day to day BIM practice rather than standalone analytics projects, reinforcing data driven review cycles, model quality checks, and content management workflows used by Stantec’s BIM and technical R and D groups.
