TE-FOOD International Legacy TE-FOOD Trace Food Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Stupava Fishery implemented TE-FOOD Trace Food, a Blockchain Platform farm-to-table traceability solution introduced to the Slovak market. The deployment focused on publicly accessible traceability for a fish farm operating within Slovakia, aligning the company with a broader sector initiative to record product provenance from primary production through downstream food channels. TE-FOOD Trace Food was configured to provide blockchain-backed event recording and public traceability, using a configurable data model to capture farm-level inputs, batch and lot events, and downstream product status. The implementation emphasized standard traceability functions typical of a Blockchain Platform, including immutable event logging, product lineage visibility, and a public trace portal, with TE-FOOD Trace Food presented as a customizable solution for farm-to-table workflows. Operational coverage for the rollout extended beyond Stupava Fishery to a consortium of Slovak food companies engaged by TE-FOOD’s implementation partner Food Trace, including retail, hospitality, slaughterhouse, producer, wholesaler, and farming participants. This created an integrated operational scope spanning primary production at the fish farm and the downstream retail and hospitality channels represented by partner organizations in Slovakia. Governance and rollout were partner-led with Food Trace coordinating implementation activities and alignment with local food authorities that support traceability initiatives. The implementation narrative positions TE-FOOD Trace Food as a flexible Blockchain Platform for scalable projects in Slovakia, with stakeholders expecting the country to become an important market for increased European food industry transparency.
