| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Dynamics GP | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2013 | 2014 |
In 2013 Sunfood implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize accounting and financial management across the organization. The deployment positioned Microsoft Dynamics GP to support core finance and accounting business functions for the 100-employee manufacturing company.
The implementation included configuration of standard Microsoft Dynamics GP financial modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, with inventory and cost accounting capabilities aligned to manufacturing accounting workflows. Sunfood operated an existing Dynamics GP 2010 instance and documented an upgrade path to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 to enable closer integration with customer relationship tooling.
Integrations and operational infrastructure were instrumented around Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange, with Remote Desktop server hosting supporting command and line-of-business applications. The upgrade path to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 was explicitly tied to planned integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM to replace Goldmine, preserving continuity of sales to finance handoffs.
Governance and operational ownership reflect an IT-led, in-house posture, with Sunfood electing not to adopt Office 365, Azure, or AWS cloud services and instead planning a controlled evacuation of bare metal and virtual servers from a private cloud managed by an MSP back into internal operations. This approach centralized system administration responsibilities for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Exchange, and the underlying Windows infrastructure under the IT organization to support ongoing upgrades and integration work.

In 2022, Sunfood implemented BigCommerce to power its direct-to-consumer eCommerce storefront on sunfood.com. The BigCommerce deployment uses a cloud SaaS storefront architecture that centralizes product catalog management, shopping cart and checkout workflows, order management, pricing and promotions, and storefront theming for responsive web presentation. This configuration positions Sunfood BigCommerce eCommerce as the primary platform for online retail operations and merchandising.
Operational scope for the BigCommerce implementation covers website merchandising, customer service, and order fulfillment activities, with the BigCommerce control panel used for catalog updates, promotion configuration, and order processing. The implementation leverages standard eCommerce functional modules such as product catalog, SKU management, cart and checkout automation, and admin role-based access controls to support site operations. Governance emphasis is on centralizing product data and promotional approval workflows within BigCommerce to streamline ongoing website operations and administrative oversight.

| ASC Software | Legacy | ASCTrac | Warehouse Management | SCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Sunfood implemented ASCTrac as a Warehouse Management solution, deploying ASCTrac at its El Cajon, California facility to manage rotating inventory valued at $4.75 million, more than 200 finished SKUs and over 2,500 component items. The implementation explicitly replaced Microsoft Dynamics GP, positioning ASCTrac as the core system for warehouse operations and inventory control.
The ASCTrac configuration focused on inventory management and warehouse operations capabilities, including review and application of inventory activities, recording and executing inventory movements and deletions, and maintaining and updating SKU and inventory records. Functional workflows implemented aligned with warehouse management practices, emphasizing inventory reconciliation and the creation of operational procedures to govern stock handling.
Operational coverage included daily warehouse functions, inventory reconciliation, and procurement-triggering workflows where staff reported stock issues to management and placed product orders as necessary. Governance changes documented during the rollout included formalized procedures for reconciling discrepancies, preparing lists of depleted products, and surveying unusable products, which centralized inventory control and reporting into ASCTrac.
