| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2021 | 2022 |
In 2021 Sunrise Communications implemented SAP S/4 HANA for ERP Financial. The program consolidated two separately operated SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environments into a single SAP S/4 HANA instance, with a Senior Manager Finance Transformation responsible for end to end delivery from preparation to go live and post go live support.
The implementation focused on core finance capabilities, including General Ledger modernization and the introduction of Group Reporting as the group consolidation tool. Project workstreams defined a target chart of accounts, group chart of accounts, consolidation and elimination rules, substitution and reclassification rules, financial statement versions, GL account type and FSG settings, and currency valuation procedures, alongside a defined data migration strategy and source to target mapping tables.
Integrations were explicitly scoped, with FDMEE upload workflows and HFM reporting feeds to Liberty Global Group maintained as part of the consolidation architecture. The program included reconciliation processes to align source SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ledgers to the S/4 HANA target, and IT delivery included ABAP development that was tested, challenged and signed off by finance process owners.
Operational coverage centered on the finance function across the Swiss telecommunications group, with UAT coordination, end user training, defect resolution during UAT and after go live, and close collaboration between business stakeholders and IT consultants. Governance changes included the establishment of a new master data governance process for the common ERP and the creation of finance process documentation and finance customer journeys to capture pain points during the stability period.
The implementation positioned SAP S/4 HANA and Group Reporting to support consolidated reporting and decision making across the group, with business requirements defined for developers and validation rules and FDMEE mappings formalized to support ongoing consolidation cycles.

In 2015, Sunrise Communications implemented Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) as its primary Collaboration platform. The deployment covered Sunrise Communications' Swiss operations and was provisioned for roughly 2000 employees to support corporate email, calendaring, document collaboration, and real-time meetings.
Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) was configured to deliver core productivity modules including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, with the Google Workspace admin console used for tenant administration and policy enforcement. Configuration emphasis aligned with Collaboration functionality, enabling shared drives, real-time co editing, centralized user and group provisioning, and role based administrative controls. Identity and device management workflows were incorporated using Google Workspace native controls to manage access and mobile endpoints.
The implementation is observable on Sunrise Communications' website, reflecting integration into corporate identity and external communication channels. Operational coverage focused on knowledge worker business functions such as internal communications, sales enablement, and IT service workflows consistent with a Collaboration platform at mid enterprise scale. Governance centered on centralized admin policies, user lifecycle processes, and standardization of content collaboration practices across teams.
