In 2017, Suntory adopted Oracle NetSuite ERP as the core system for its home delivery business for Suntory Tennensui, implementing it as an ERP Financial platform to centralize order to cash and inventory workflows. The deployment was delivered by Fujitsu Marketing Limited and positioned Oracle NetSuite ERP to consolidate contracts, sales management, and delivery orchestration across the service.
The implementation focused on the home delivery business operated by Suntory Holdings Group, Suntory Foods Limited, Suntory Logistics Limited, and Suntory Beverage & Food Limited, with an initial commercial start offering rental services in one metropolitan area and three prefectures from March 2nd. Fujitsu Marketing Limited built the NetSuite-based core system to unify front-end contract capture from websites and call centers with back-office fulfillment and financial posting.
Core functional modules configured included order management, sales management, inventory management, delivery scheduling, and receivables and payables consolidation, with most work achieved inside standard user customization capabilities of NetSuite. Website contract flows were integrated with sales management to centralize contracts from multiple channels, and delivery and debts and credits were consolidated into the cloud ERP instance to provide a single operational ledger for the home delivery business.
Governance and operational intent emphasized cloud SaaS benefits, removing the need for customers to install and maintain infrastructure and enabling faster additions of business capabilities after go live. The cloud deployment was reported to reduce operating costs and to provide flexibility for future business expansion, while the program was designed to shorten time from ordering to delivery through unified order, inventory, and fulfillment processes.
