In 2017, TELUS International Philippines implemented Workday Financial Management as an ERP Financial deployment and engaged Alight as the global deployment partner. The engagement was positioned to consolidate finance, planning and related operations across acquired entities into a single Workday tenant to reduce reliance on spreadsheet consolidation and enable consistent global processes.
TELUS International executed a global discovery and design phase that prioritized cloud enabled common processes while preserving local statutory compliance. The Workday Financial Management deployment included Core Financials, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Customer Accounts, Business Assets, Banking and Settlement, Project Work Management and Budgets, reflecting a full finance functional footprint aligned to the companys back office needs.
Alight guided a two phase rollout, with corporate and the largest regions United States and Canada going live first, followed by the Philippines, El Salvador, Guatemala, Bulgaria, Romania and the United Kingdom six months later. The phase one timeline for the United States and Canada followed a 39 week deployment and a 32 week stabilization and support stage, while phase two followed a 25 week deployment and a six week stabilization and support stage, indicating staged cutover and post go live support windows.
Operationally the implementation unified HR, finance and planning workflows in the same Workday platform to provide integrated transactional and workforce data for finance and planning teams. TELUS International also implemented Workday Adaptive Planning and Professional Services Automation across the United States, Canada, Philippines, El Salvador, Guatemala, Bulgaria, Romania and the United Kingdom, and later added newly acquired sites in Ireland and India into the existing Workday instance by leveraging the preexisting global design.
Governance emphasized global configuration guidance and best practice process design provided by Alight, combined with design testing and staged stabilization to establish user workflows and tenant configuration. Post deployment the company reported a consolidated global view into real time finance data down to the transactional level and improved planning and analysis capabilities using Workday Financial Management and integrated planning modules.
