In 2016 Tesco Stores SR, a.s. deployed Oracle Retail Merchandising System to govern stock ledger functions across Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. Configuration work focused on route modeling, automated dispatch instructions, and daily planning to support store replenishment and store level logistics operations.
Integrations were implemented with Tesco's warehouse management system running on Oracle and with a third party track and trace system, Microlise, to facilitate data transfer and improve accuracy. After the successful pilot in Slovakia, the solution was rolled out to Tesco Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Thailand and Malaysia, extending operational coverage across Central Europe and South East Asia.
Governance centered on Tesco logistics teams operating the solution for daily route creation and phased rollout across countries, with iterative expansion of configuration and operational scope. Since the initial implementation in 2010, Tesco's cooperation with ORTEC increased year by year and the ORTEC Routing Suite became an essential part of Tesco logistics operations in Central Europe and South East Asia.
