Viewpoint Construction Legacy ViewpointOne Expense Management Expense Management ERP Financial Management n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Texas Sterling Construction Co implemented ViewpointOne Expense Management. The deployment addressed project level expense capture and cost recording across field teams and project controls for a company of approximately 600 employees in the construction and real estate sector. ViewpointOne Expense Management was configured to support weekly expense entry, cost code assignment, and posting into the Viewpoint project cost ledger. Project personnel tracked project expenses and recorded them in Viewpoint on a weekly basis, and the configuration emphasized expense workflows aligned with construction cost categories such as labor, materials and equipment. The implementation centralized project document and log workflows inside the ViewpointOne environment, encompassing preparation and distribution of project submittals, subcontracts and purchase agreements, maintenance of plan drawings and revisions, and initialization of required project logs including RFIs and change orders. Daily production quantities were maintained alongside expense records to support cost analysis and owner payment quantity tracking, and operational activities such as setups of utilities, services and water meters were recorded as part of project cost capture. Governance and operational workflow changes included assigning ongoing weekly expense recording responsibilities to project teams and project controls, embedding safety inspection documentation and safety meeting artifacts into the same project records, and tying expense entry cadence to billing and owner payment reconciliation processes. Work plan preparation for upcoming statements of work was coordinated with expense and quantity tracking to maintain alignment between field operations and accounting. The implementation impacted finance, project controls, estimating and field operations, using ViewpointOne Expense Management to unify expense capture with project logs and daily production tracking for ongoing cost analysis and billing support.
