In 2020 The College of New Jersey implemented Zoom from Zoom Video Communications as its primary Audio Video and Web Conferencing application and exposed meeting access on the college website. The deployment established Zoom as the institutional conferencing front end for synchronous academic sessions and administrative meetings, with web accessible join links published on departmental pages and central campus web properties.
The implementation leveraged core Audio Video and Web Conferencing capabilities including browser based joining, scheduled meetings, webinar style broadcast for larger classes, screen sharing, and cloud recording. Zoom meeting configuration emphasized role based meeting controls and meeting security settings typical for higher education use, aligned with the Audio Video and Web Conferencing category functional model.
Operational coverage extended across academic departments and administrative units, with the college website used as a primary access point to distribute meeting links and event information. The approach centralized entry to virtual sessions through institutional web pages while supporting distributed meeting scheduling by faculty and staff, consistent with campus collaboration and instructional delivery workflows.
Governance and workflow responsibility rested with campus IT and unit administrators who provisioned accounts and managed access controls, and who coordinated publishing of meeting links to web pages. The implementation narrative focuses on embedding Zoom meeting access into the public college web experience, the Audio Video and Web Conferencing configuration choices for higher education use cases, and the operational model for campus scheduling and access management.
