In 2013, The GPT Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial core to centralize corporate finance, tax and support function processes at head office and group management companies in Australia. The GPT Group SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment targeted financial accounting, statutory reporting and consolidation workflows used by finance, tax and shared services teams.
The implementation configured core financial modules typical of an ERP Financial system, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Tax provisioning, Controlling and period-end close and financial reporting capabilities. Configuration work emphasized standardized monthly reconciliation templates and P&L variance reporting templates to support monthly Business Activity Statement BAS preparation and fringe benefits tax FBT analysis.
Integrations implemented as part of the program included Hyperion for management reporting and consolidation, and Microsoft SharePoint for documentation and training distribution to business units. The project included structured data migration with data cleansing and analytics, and a focused acceptance testing phase to validate transactional integrity and reporting feeds.
Governance and rollout centered on process documentation, control assessment and targeted training for business units. Senior finance leads developed new head office reconciliation processes and tax provision calculation templates, conducted business unit training on SAP ERP ECC 6.0, Hyperion and SharePoint, and coordinated audit and compliance preparation to align internal controls with the new ERP workflows.
Documented outcomes from the implementation included the design and implementation of head office monthly reconciliation templates and process documents leveraging SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and Hyperion functionality, creation of a tax provision calculation template and financial statement tax disclosure note, and delivery of business unit training on the combined reporting stack. The GPT Group SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial deployment therefore unified core financial systems with tax and statutory reporting operations.
