In 2016, Tillys selected and deployed Aptos Point of Sale as part of the cloud-based Aptos Singular Commerce platform to support omni-channel customer engagement and retail execution. The implementation encompassed the Point Of Sale capability across Tillys retail footprint, targeting in-store customer engagement and transaction processing on approximately 1,200 mobile devices in its brick and mortar stores.
The rollout included multiple Aptos modules beyond the Aptos Point of Sale core, specifically Aptos Sales Audit, Aptos CRM, and Aptos Enterprise Order Management. Aptos Point of Sale was positioned to drive seamless transactions and customer capture, Aptos Sales Audit to validate and relay accurate transaction information enterprise-wide, Aptos CRM to provide a 360 degree view of customers and support capture, analysis, segmentation and campaign management, and Enterprise Order Management to govern order lifecycle and channel convergence.
Architecturally the deployment leveraged Aptos Singular Commerce as a cloud-first, end-to-end retail platform that integrates customer, inventory and order information across channels. Integrations explicitly included the retailer website and data flows linking point of sale transaction records with Tillys back end systems, enabling unified visibility across 225 stores in 33 states and the online channel.
Operational governance emphasized omni-channel information integration and best-practice retail execution, with platform-level orchestration to support store operations, merchandising and customer marketing workflows. The implementation aimed to improve decision making, streamline operations, reduce costs and deliver seamless customer experiences, reflecting explicit outcomes stated by Tillys and Aptos.
