Esker SA Legacy Esker Accounts Receivable AR Automation ERP n/a 2019 2020
In 2019, Toshiba America Business Solutions deployed Esker Accounts Receivable as an AR Automation solution to centralize and modernize its invoicing and collections workflows. The deployment targeted the corporate Accounts Receivable organization and internal invoicing processes across TBS operations in the United States, aiming to improve invoice accessibility, customer enrollment in e-invoicing, and payment self-service. The implementation configured a document generation and delivery pipeline that begins with data extraction from Oracle, producing a data file and XML which are pushed to Prism, a variable data software partner. Prism populates invoice templates and outputs a PDF that is automatically ingested by Esker Accounts Receivable, where electronic distribution and portal posting occur. The solution included re-engineered invoice templates with a variable marketing component to drive customer enrollment, and payment enablement for credit card and e-check processing through the portal. Integrations were explicitly implemented with the customer Oracle application and Prism, enabling automated handoffs of XML and PDF payloads into Esker and electronic distribution channels. The Esker web portal was provisioned to provide single-click access to invoices, hold processing controls to manage schedule variability or holidays, and invoice traceability metadata that records when invoices are accessed and processed. These integration points support centralized document orchestration and customer-facing self-service workflows. Governance and process changes included moving internal invoice review from printed artifacts to online workflows, redesigning templates to capture accounts payable contacts and enrollment calls to action, and using portal enrollment lists to drive targeted outreach. Outcomes stated by TBS include a 1-day reduction in DSO, a reported ROI of $342,000, average processing time reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes per transaction equating to 50 percent time savings, and higher customer self-service adoption currently at 28 percent against a three-year goal of 20 percent. The implementation also delivered reduced call volume into the AR department and retained customer enrollment data to support ongoing outreach and adoption efforts.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2016 2018
In 2016, Toshiba America Business Solutions deployed Microsoft Power BI for Analytics and BI as the visualization layer for a companion IoT analytics application called CloudConnect Data Service. Toshiba launched CloudConnect Data Service in August 2016 to extend analytics from its e-BRIDGE CloudConnect device telemetry and repair history. The implementation ingests device health telemetry and repair history from e-BRIDGE CloudConnect, stages it in Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and exposes modeled telemetry and component longevity analyses through Microsoft Power BI. Functional capabilities implemented include data ingestion and staging, failure-history and longevity modeling, and interactive dashboards and reports consumed by design and manufacturing quality-assurance engineers. Architecturally the solution places Azure SQL Data Warehouse as the central analytics layer, with storage billed separately from compute so compute capacity is paid for when in use. Microsoft Power BI is used to surface operational and engineering visualizations, creating a direct integration between field telemetry, analytics, and product engineering teams. Operational scope focuses on design and manufacturing quality-assurance, with analytics outputs intended to feed parts qualification and supply chain decisions and to inform customer service SLA discussions. The stated objective is to progressively purge weak parts from the supply chain and to improve product design and customer SLAs.
