About the Customer
Towergate Insurance is a UK-based insurance broker, headquartered in London. It has approximately 5,000 employees based in over 100 offices across the UK and handles around £3bn of insurance premiums each year.
Scope and Challenges
Towergate worked with Microsoft partner Hitachi Solutions to implement Dynamics 365 to manage their CRM and provide a single, connected view of the customer. This enables them to profile their customers, understand their propensity to buy and identify the next best action to progress the customer journey and provide the optimum insurance cover. This has shifted the interaction with customers away from a transaction towards a longer-term advisor/client relationship.
Outcome and Implications
In addition, implementing Dynamics Financials enabled them to replace complex and laborious manual reconciliations of insurers, balances and bank accounts with a single system that generates actionable management information.
By tapping into Microsoft’s expertise in data center security, they protected themselves against data loss and data corruption and created robust provisions for disaster recovery and operational resilience. For example, by using Skype for Business it is now possible to divert an entire call center operation without any downtime.
Quotes
“I think we’re in a phenomenal position now and the more I talk to people about the journey we’ve taken the more I realise what a giant step we took and what a radical impact it’s delivered. We’ve been well supported by Hitachi Solutions, Microsoft and Accenture – together we did a really good job of making it feel like one team – and now we’re solidly positioned for the future,” said Gordon Walters.
