In 2023, Trane implemented Skills Base AI Skills Intelligence to standardize and manage technician skills across North America and Latin America. The deployment centralized skills profiling and competency data to support resource allocation and learning and development, positioning Skills Base AI Skills Intelligence as a Skills Intelligence layer for field service workforce planning.
The implementation included configuration of skills taxonomies, technician skill matrices, and resource-allocation workflows, together with integrations that synchronized skills data with Trane's learning management system and Salesforce. Skills Base AI Skills Intelligence was configured to feed identified skill gaps into the LMS for recommended training workflows, and to surface technician qualifications within Salesforce records to support assignment and dispatch decisions.
Operational scope covered regional technician populations and affected learning and development, field service operations, and workforce management functions. Governance established centralized skills definitions and maintenance workflows to improve visibility and enable more effective technician deployment and assignment as part of resource-allocation processes.

In 2010, Trane implemented Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) across its global field operations in Field Service Management. The initiative was led by a senior solution architect who drove the Global implementation of ClickPlatform, ClickSchedule and ClickMobile on a cloud environment, concentrating on end to end service execution and commercial workflows.
The implementation configured ClickPlatform modules for quoting, work order management and service agreements, and deployed ClickSchedule for appointment scheduling and dispatch optimization and ClickMobile to equip field technicians with mobile work execution and time capture. Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) was configured with workflows to support quote creation, service agreement lifecycle, work order assignment, technician routing and mobile confirmation, using configuration-driven business rules aligned to Field Service Management operations.
Deployment covered Trane service and installation organizations globally, centralizing scheduling, dispatch and mobile data capture under a single cloud-based instance. Governance was exercised by the solution architect to standardize service processes, establish centralized administration and operationalize mobile procedures, with an emphasis on configuration governance and workflow ownership across service delivery teams.
