In 2019 Transdev US deployed Basware AP Automation, adopting AP Automation to centralize and standardize accounts payable processes across its US operations. The deployment was scoped to support Transdev U.S. operations spanning 400 locations and a 32,000 person workforce, aligning AP workflows with the companys mobility operations and decentralized site model.
Basware AP Automation was configured to support vendor onboarding and ongoing vendor master management, including a Vendor Request desk workflow for new vendor submissions, periodic vendor merge and purge processes, and administration of approval levels. Configuration work included user and workflow administration to enforce invoice approval routing and supplier data hygiene across finance and procurement functional areas.
Integrations were implemented between Basware AP Automation and the enterprise financial system JD Edwards, synchronizing master data elements such as users, approval levels, vendors, customers, cost centers, and chart of accounts between ERP and supporting systems. These integrations enabled coordinated procurement and financial processing across field operations, while preserving site-level operational agility for location managers and support staff.
Governance and process controls were established to manage active vendor counts, authorize and categorize suppliers through procurement, and document vendor creation procedures. Operational support emphasized training for new and existing locations, creation of process documentation, oversight of the vendor merge purge cycle, and use of third party data sources such as Dun and Bradstreet to identify high risk vendors.
