In 2020 True North Mortgage implemented Plooto for AP Automation,AR Automation. The Calgary-based mortgage broker configured Plooto to centralize payables and receivables workflows, aligning with the controller's requirement to send payments quickly to employees, vendors and clients. The deployment emphasized an enforced two-approver authorization workflow on every payment to meet internal control requirements. The scope targeted the finance and accounts payable functions across the organization of roughly 130 employees.
Plooto was configured to deliver category-standard capabilities such as automated approval routing, electronic payment orchestration, and reconciliation support for AP Automation,AR Automation, with payee-facing simple payment flows. Operational governance was formalized under controller Srinivas Pabbaraju, who mandated approval sequencing and streamlined payee onboarding to reduce manual check handling that had proven slow in other contexts. The implementation prioritized process controls, reduced manual handoffs, and centralized payment orchestration for finance, vendor management and client disbursements.

The announcement identified Newton Velocity as the central submission hub to support mortgage origination and submissions across Canada for more than 100 agents managing roughly $3 billion in annual funded volume.
The implementation centered on Newton Velocity's submission and connectivity capabilities together with loan origination functions, configured to standardize broker intake, package loan files, and route applications to lenders. Configuration work focused on submission workflows, data validation rules, and lender product mapping to support consistent application packaging and more rapid lender access.
Newton Velocity was deployed to provide consolidated connectivity to lender channels and centralized submission endpoints across the broker network, enabling agents to submit to multiple lenders from a single platform. Operational scope included mortgage origination teams and broker channels across Canada, with the platform intended to unify submission processing and lender access points.
The program was announced in 2021 with a same year go live expected and a phased rollout across the broker network. Governance emphasis was placed on submission workflow standards, agent onboarding, and lender credential configuration to enforce consistent packaging and traceability within Newton Velocity.
