SonarSource Legacy SonarSource SonarQube Apps Development PaaS n/a 2020 2020 In 2020, Tryg Forsikring implemented SonarSource SonarQube as part of its Apps Development toolset for the Bilweb team that builds the car dealer ordering application. The implementation targeted embedding automated static analysis into developer workflows supporting Java17, Quarkus and SpringBoot back ends along with Vue3 and NPM front ends used by developers, testers, Scrum Master and Product Owner in the team. SonarSource SonarQube was configured to deliver language specific analysis, code smell detection, security vulnerability scanning and quality gates that enforce code standards alongside unit test suites executed with JUnit and Jest. Quality gates and rule profiles were applied to align automated checks with Tryg architectural standards and to surface remediation items for developers and testers as part of regular development cycles. The SonarQube instance was integrated into the GitLab build pipeline to run scans as part of CI/CD, with scan results surfaced in merge request workflows and visible to developers working in Ubuntu development environments. Scanning covered microservice and API code that the Bilweb team maintains for partner integrations, and SonarQube outputs were used alongside test automation tools including Leapwork, Playwright and Cypress. Architectural governance was maintained by solution architects who provided analysis and design artifacts to ensure SonarQube quality gates mirrored business process and customer journey requirements, and DevSecOps practices such as Behavior Driven Development, pair programming and test automation were used to operationalize findings. SonarQube is explicitly used to maintain good code quality at Tryg Forsikring, embedding static analysis into day to day development and CI workflows for the application used by car dealers.
