In 2021, TSD Logistics implemented Employee Navigator for Benefits Administration. Deployment targeted the companys US HR operations, covering benefits enrollment, onboarding, and offboarding workflows for approximately 78 employees, with an on-site HR Benefits Coordinator managing day-to-day use.
Employee Navigator was configured to support enrollment management, benefits data maintenance, employee self-service for plan selection, and reporting and analysis to underpin benefits communications. Configuration included standardized enrollment accuracy checks and structured data entry processes, with the HR Benefits Coordinator validating enrollments and updating the HR database. The platform was used to document benefits education conversations and to record contract terms negotiated with health insurance providers.
Operational coverage comprised new hire orientation, verification of benefits enrollment accuracy, exit interviews and termination paperwork processing, and ongoing participant record management within Employee Navigator. Governance moved benefits record ownership to HR, with processes defined so that enrollment changes and terminations were entered centrally to preserve data consistency and auditability.
The implementation enhanced team workflows and employee job satisfaction by coordinating communication between managers and employees and centralizing benefits records. McLeod IQ was used for scheduled and ad hoc reporting and for feeding visualizations that supported pricing and lane profitability analysis, with company staff developing report templates and operational scorecards.
The deployment included a practical integration with Power BI for enhanced visualization and presentation of McLeod IQ data, enabling additional dashboarding beyond native tools. Operational coverage spanned the operations center and multiple driver-facing divisions, with outputs consumed by dispatchers, brokerage staff, and driver liaison roles for day to day decision making and carrier coordination.
Governance was anchored by an internal McLeod IQ key user who served as the company SME, troubleshooting end user issues and training staff. Dashboards were used to surface coaching opportunities and to audit driver logs, and analytics were explicitly applied to analyze report data to improve profitability and to identify areas of improvement through revenue projections, while also elevating drivers voices into administrative planning.
