In 2019, TTX migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to Oracle Cloud ERP. Oracle Cloud ERP was deployed as the companywide ERP Financial application to consolidate corporate finance and accounting functions for TTX, a Transportation firm with 1,500 employees and 400000000 in revenue.
The Assistant Vice President and Corporate Controller led a finance team of 16 professionals and directed the conversion effort, creating a new chart of accounts and overseeing accounting configuration across all ERP modules. The implementation encompassed financial reporting, payroll, fixed assets, materials and supplies, revenue accounting, master data, and account reconciliation modules, and implemented updated accounting standards for leasing, revenue recognition, and cloud computing arrangements.
Architecturally the program was executed on Oracle Fusion Cloud, configuring centralized general ledger and subledger structures, master data governance, and integrated financial reporting within the Oracle Cloud ERP environment. Configuration emphasis included chart of accounts design, automated account reconciliation workflows, and statutory and management reporting flows native to the ERP Financial application.
Governance changes included formalized master data stewardship, accounting configuration review processes, and cross functional control ownership across corporate finance, payroll, fixed asset management, materials and supplies, and revenue accounting. The finance organization retained operational accountability for ongoing accounting configuration and reconciliation processes after the rollout.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 TTX implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits as a targeted Benefits Administration deployment within its broader Oracle HCM Cloud program. The implementation was governed through TTX’s Oracle Center of Excellence with an Oracle HCM Cloud Product Owner based in Charlotte and additional CoE resources operating remotely, aligning Benefits Administration with enterprise HR strategy and operational support for HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations stakeholders.
The implementation centered on configuring the Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits module and aligning it with adjacent HCM modules including Core HR, Recruiting, Learning, and Talent Management. Configuration work included benefits plan setup, eligibility and enrollment rule configuration, and workflow orchestration for employee lifecycle events, while the team maintained quarterly upgrade testing and ongoing module maintenance as part of the product roadmap and backlog management.
Integrations were executed using Oracle HCM APIs and standard integration patterns to connect Benefits Administration to other non-Oracle enterprise systems and platforms, with vendor coordination involving Oracle, TTX’s Managed Service Provider, and third-party vendors for issue resolution and feature delivery. Reporting and analytics capability was delivered using OTBI and Business Intelligence Publisher for custom reports and data extracts, with HCM analytics developed in Fusion Data Intelligence and Journeys/experience flows built using Visual Builder Studio where applicable.
Governance and operationalization were driven by the CoE product management model, including defined product strategy, prioritized backlog, role-based user training, creation of user documentation and job aids, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration. Compliance and security controls for employee data were enforced through the Oracle HCM platform configuration and CoE governance processes, with structured testing including system, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing as part of the rollout cadence.

In 2020, TTX deployed IBM Maximo Enterprise Suite as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to manage configuration and lifecycle for its more than 170,000 railcars. TTX is the railcar cooperative owned by North America’s leading railroads and operates maintenance terminals across a pooled network, supporting maintenance planning, scheduling, forecasting, and engineering functions tied to fleet availability and capital conservation.
Electronic Data, Inc. partnered with TTX to develop a hybrid, customized implementation that combined Maximo Transportation Manager capabilities with the Asset Configuration Manager module and Maximo Enterprise Asset Management. The implementation emphasized traceability and control for multiple complex railcar transactions and delivered an asset lifecycle management solution configured to support Car Purchases and Builder Release, Car Dimension Management, and Car Configuration Management.
The program included assessment, re engineering, and the reconfiguration of maintenance processes, and it replaced an over 20 year old custom mainframe system by retiring the embedded mainframe. More than 12 system interfaces were implemented to integrate Maximo with Railinc Umler, SAP, United Fleet Distribution, Revenue Accounting, Unified Billing System, and Shop Car Tracking, enabling maintenance forecasting and budgeting scenarios to be analyzed against planned and unplanned maintenance forecasts.
Governance work focused on restructuring maintenance planning and scheduled maintenance management, and establishing program maintenance management workflows to support maintenance forecasting, budgeting, and shop operations. The project addressed organizational and cultural change challenges by embedding Maximo Enterprise Asset Management into planning and execution processes across maintenance and engineering teams.
The implementation delivered a fleet wide maintenance schedule, and improved efficiencies in maintenance planning, scheduling, and forecasting through scenario analysis, with the stated outcome of minimizing maintenance costs and increasing asset reliability.
