In 2024, University of California San Francisco implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial solution, deploying the Oracle Cloud ERP application to span both the UCSF healthcare system and the campus. Oracle Cloud ERP was provisioned to support Financial Management, Supply Chain, Human Capital Management, Research Grants/Awards Management, and Student Information Systems as core functional areas in the program scope.
The implementation centers on functional design and business transformation led by an Executive Director of ERP Business Functions who serves as the Business Program Owner. The role guides configuration and functional leadership for Financial Management, procurement and supply chain workflows, human capital processes, awards and grants management, and student information system integration, and it leads restructuring of work and staffing to align operational processes with Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities.
Operational coordination and systems integration are managed in partnership with UCSF Information Technology, the Program Management Office, and central Financial and Administrative Services departments. Program Leads and Project Teams execute project management and change management activities while the Business Program Owner collaborates with the Technical Program Owner to manage governance and technical integration work streams, and to oversee communications across campus and health operations. The position is remote with required travel to the San Francisco area covered by the organization.
Governance is routed through the Senior Vice Chancellor Office where the Executive Director ERP Business Functions reports, and the role provides organization wide influence on policy development, issue framing, and executive level recommendations. The Business Program Owner obtains cross functional resources from HR, organizational development, legal, facilities, budget and finance, and prepares program level communications and materials for executive sponsors while overseeing program reporting and stakeholder engagement for the ERP Financial implementation.

| UKG | Legacy | UKG Workforce Central Payroll (ex Kronos Workforce Payroll) | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, University of California San Francisco implemented UKG Workforce Central Payroll (ex Kronos Workforce Payroll) as its Payroll application. The deployment brought UKG Workforce Central Payroll into operational use to manage, process, and distribute payroll for an employee population of 150 as documented in contemporary records.
UKG Workforce Central Payroll was configured to support core payroll functions typical of Payroll systems, including gross-to-net payroll calculation, statutory and voluntary tax withholding, paycheck and direct deposit distribution, payroll recordkeeping, and operational reporting. The implementation addressed pay run sequencing, earnings and deduction setup, and period close processing within the application.
Historically UCSF used ADP and Kronos to process payroll, and the UKG Workforce Central Payroll implementation centralized routine payroll operations under a single payroll application. Operational coverage spanned payroll administration and finance processes, with HR providing employee data feeds and benefits deduction inputs to the system.
Governance emphasized centralized payroll administration and configuration controls for earnings codes, tax tables, and pay distribution methods to support recurring payroll cycles and compliance reporting. The account of the implementation focuses on system scope, modules configured, and operational ownership rather than rollout metrics or implementation partner details.
