| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS Integrated Payables | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021 UC Santa Cruz implemented FIS Integrated Payables to deliver AP Automation capabilities to its finance organization, concentrating on vendor inquiry, invoice search, and consolidation workflows within accounts payable. The deployment emphasized stabilizing vendor history and invoice filtering functions that are central to AP Automation use cases at the university level.
The installation included targeted fixes to the FAIVNDH Vendor Detail History component of FIS Integrated Payables. Engineers added custom filter methods for the Check Date field to support date searches, constrained wildcard usage to the Basic Filter, and introduced user-facing error messages that list allowed date formats when incorrect input is entered. The project resolved a defect where queries and invoice amount filters for vendors with extensive history did not complete. The team also modified the Fiscal Year Filter to return only records matching the Fiscal Year entered in the keyblock.
As part of the release FAVVIC2.sql was changed to materialize all virtual fields used on the Vendor Invoice consolidation page, specifically Vendor Invoice Amount, Due Date, Check Date, Check Number, Multiple for Vendor Invoice Consolidation, and Pay Type for PayNetExchange, and sorting was enabled for all data columns on the page. These changes to FIS Integrated Payables affect core accounts payable functions at UC Santa Cruz by improving vendor detail retrieval, invoice consolidation views, and PayNetExchange pay type visibility, reducing previously reported query failures and formatting errors.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle PeopleSoft HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010 UC Santa Cruz implemented Oracle PeopleSoft HCM as its Core HR system. Deployment was managed by the ITS Applications & PM organization inside the Business Systems Group and intended to support campus-wide human resources and academic HR functions for approximately 6,000 employees.
The Oracle PeopleSoft HCM deployment focused on Core HR transactional capabilities, including employee records, position management, benefits administration, and HR self-service workflows to support academic and staff lifecycle processes. Configuration work aligned Oracle PeopleSoft HCM with campus position control and academic HR requirements identified by business unit directors, and the implementation included reporting and operational parameterization to feed enterprise HR reporting needs.
Oracle PeopleSoft HCM was integrated into UC Santa Cruz's portfolio of enterprise systems with explicit interfaces to campus Time and Attendance systems and to mainframe applications, and with data flows into the enterprise data warehouse. The system operated alongside Banner Financial and Banner Advancement systems and connected to SharePoint Web Content Management and custom Academic HR web applications for specific administrative workflows, supporting cross-system HR to finance and reporting processes.
Governance and ongoing maintenance were centralized in the Business Systems Group, with the Business Systems Group Development Manager coordinating technical resources and business unit directors to identify requirements and prioritize changes. ITS Applications & PM managed configuration, interfaces, and custom application connections to Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and retained responsibility for operational change control and application lifecycle support.

In 2017 UC Santa Cruz began a multi year program to move core enterprise systems to the cloud and to rationalize its Education ERP estate around Ellucian Banner ERP. Early in 2017 the campus went live with its first enterprise cloud service, the Identity Management IDM system, and then executed sequential migrations to Amazon Web Services with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions in October 2017, Banner Advancement 9 in May 2018, the Data Warehouse and the Operational Data Store for UCPath in June 2018, and a planned migration of Banner Finance to AWS by the end of the year.
The Ellucian Banner ERP workstream focused on Banner Advancement and Banner Finance modules within an AWS deployment, with centralized identity provisioning via the IDM system and data consolidation routed to the campus Data Warehouse and the UCPath ODS. Functional capabilities implemented included advancement workflows and finance processing, while Student Services remained integrated with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions as part of the broader application landscape. The architecture emphasizes cloud hosting on AWS, consolidated data layers for reporting, and identity integration to support single sign on and provisioning.
Operational scope covered campus IT and administrative units responsible for advancement, finance, student administration, and payroll related data flows into UCPath. The rollout proceeded as a phased program, sequencing IDM first to establish identity and access controls, then student systems and Banner Advancement, followed by data warehousing and ODS provisioning to support downstream reporting and operational needs, with Banner Finance scheduled as the final Banner migration. Governance centered on staged cutovers and data consolidation across the AWS environment to align administrative processes with the new cloud hosted Education ERP footprint.
